Solving a Fall Color-Block Sartorial Conundrum.

"Hey Mister, Can you help me achieve this look? " asked Mr. Arnum, a Lawyer and friend of mine, with the photo below attached.  "Oh, that's easy," I replied.

"By Saturday," Arnum says. (Today is Wednesday evening).  I went directly to work to find what the market has to offer for a trendy look, steering away from fast Fashion houses, (i.e. H&M, Forever 21, etc.) who would be more likely to carry these trendy color-filled separates.  The task was long and the time short but there is nothing that a little research in the luxury market can't solve.  Below are Arnum's looks.

The key to blocking in the Fall is to choose hues and tones that are neutral and not as bright as spring pieces, seen in Arnum's tear.  However, You can pair a bright tone, like the Fuchsia Marc by Marc Jacobs Twill blazer with a fall Neutral like navy.

For Fall, I also love the idea of the all over print, seen everywhere in the Fall 2012 menswear collections.  Pair the navy, green and red plaid Etro trousers below with the sapphire blue check Burberry London dress shirt.  These prints marry well because of commonality in their navy tone.
