Brooklyn is the essence of downtown-chic-grunge, populated with a melting pot of backgrounds and cultures. A diverse hub of Fashion, entertainment and lifestyle. There is an exclusivity about Brooklyn that you’d have to witness to understand. The marriage between Trinidad-born and Brooklyn-bred rapper, Theophilus London, known for his “genre-bending” sound and unapologetic style and Italian-made fancy footwear designer, Del Toro, fully embodies the Brooklyn culture.

This “meeting in the middle,” personifies the burgeoning rappers affinity for Fashion and Music, as these art mediums have become synonymous, one-in-the-same, cant-have-one-without-the-other. It only seems fitting that Del Toro, among one of the fastest growing accessories brands, founded just six years ago and London would team up to make the black velvet slipper embossed with a green stemmed red rose planked by two gold leaves on top of the shoe, two gold stars on the side and a red tab with London’s signature “LVRS” featured on the heel. 

But much bigger than fulfilling the essence of Brooklyn with this rapper/designer collaboration, what London and Del Toro is doing for menswear as a whole is astronomical.  Sure rappers and artists have been known for being fashion forward, but those like London make designers household names and make men more comfortable with their Fashion conundrums.  So step out gentlemen with your fancy flats and fearless fashions in these Theophilus London and Del Toro slippers slated for a summer/July 2012 release.  London will also release his mix tape, Rose Island, in July.
